GNUstep GUI Backend (xlib)

It is a backend component for the GNUstep GUI Library. The implementation of the GNUstep GUI Library is designed in two parts. The first part is the front-end component which is independent of platform and display system. This front-end is combined with a back-end component which handles all of the display system dependent such as specific calls to the X Window System.

GNUstep Base library

The GNUstep Base Library is a powerful fast library of general-purpose, non-graphical Objective C classes, inspired by the OpenStep API but implementing Apple and GNU additions to the API as well. It includes for example classes for unicode strings, arrays, dictionaries, sets, byte streams, typed coders, invocations, notifications, notification dispatchers, scanners, tasks, files, networking, threading, remote object messaging support (distributed objects), event loops, loadable bundles, attributed unicode strings, xml, mime, user defaults.

KDecoration2 is a library to create window decorations. These window decorations can be used by for example an X11 based window manager which re-parents a Client window to a window decoration frame.
